About me

Krzysztof Muskalski, MD, PhD - lives and works in Częstochowa, Poland. Mastered the art of juggling his two great passions - ophthalmology and artistic photography. Often indicates that there is a close connection between the two, as the eye and the camera have a number of analogies in the construction and functioning.

He is now retired - after being affiliated to the
Department of Ophthalmology of the Medical University of Silesia, and working as Assist. Prof. at the Optometry Division of the Technical University of Częstochowa. Now continues contributing to his local community working in his private practice. He is a co-author of over 70 scientific works and articles. He took part in numerous international scientific conferences, and became a member of international ophthalmological societies. Awarded International Education Award by the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Former member of the Council of Polish Ophthalmologists. Active member of Polish Medical Chambers for many years. He was awarded the Silver Medal of Merit for his achievements in medicine and medical government by the President of the Republic of Poland.

His biggest source of inspiration remains travel photography, with its extraordinary challenge of combining various genres of photography. He is a travel photographer in the literal and metaphorical sense. He runs his own Photo Art Gallery
'Time of Travel’ in Częstochowa, Poland, where he presents photography exhibitions from his travels - selected under the media patronage of National Geographic Polska. He presented his photographs at dozens of author's and collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He is a laureate of more than 100 domestic and foreign photography competitions. He was honored with the title of FIAP Excellence Artist - platinum level EFIAP/p, the title EPSA - Excellence Photographic Society of America, the title of GAPU Gold Exhibitor by the Union of Asian Photographers APU (Singapore) and the title Artist Photographer by the Photoclub of the Republic of Poland and the Association of Polish Art Photographers and more. He is a member of the Royal Photographic Society - RPS (UK) and a Honorary Member of the AMFI - the Association of Italian Doctors Photographers. He has been the originator and co-organizer of the International Salons of Artistic Photography for Physicians "PhotoArtMedica" in Częstochowa, Poland since 2013. He was awarded the Medal of Merit for Polish Photography for the 100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence.

He willingly refers to the former masters of photography, seeking inspiration not only in their photographs but also in their words. The motto of his photographic passion are the words of one of his favorite masters -
Ansel Adams: 'You don't take a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved."...
